# Babstadt, Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg, Germany Babstadt was home to the Daubel family across two generations, from the birth of Johann Georg Michael Daubel in 1766 through the marriage of his daughter Luise Margaretha in 1831. Johann Georg Michael Daubel was born here on 24 September 1766. He established himself in the village as a citizen and master butcher — a position that placed him among the settled tradesmen of the community, with a recognized craft and the standing that citizenship conferred. His trade would have kept him at the center of village life, supplying meat to his neighbors and holding a place among those with a stake in the town's affairs. His children were born into this household. Johann Christian Ludwig Daubel arrived on 6 February 1800, and Luise Margaretha Daubel followed on 11 June 1802. Johann Georg Michael Daubel died in Babstadt on 12 March 1821, at the age of fifty-four, and was buried three days later, on 15 March, in the village where he had spent his life. A decade after his death, on 1 November 1831, his daughter Luise Margaretha married Georg Friedrich Ries in Babstadt — the last of the family events to unfold in the village, joining her to a new household as the generation her father had raised came into its own.
