# Waldenbuch, Böblingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany Set in the wooded hill country south of Stuttgart, the small Württemberg town of Waldenbuch was home to the Raisch family across several generations. Between the late eighteenth and mid-nineteenth centuries, the town's ordinary rhythms of birth, marriage, and burial marked the passage of this family's life here. Charlotte Kayßer, born on 15 August 1784, was among the earliest of these family members whose lives touched Waldenbuch. She lived here, and her connection to the Raisch household places her at the center of the family's presence in the town. Christian Friederich Raisch was born in Waldenbuch on 14 May 1818, one of the several Raisch children whose lives were rooted in the town. Alongside him were Georg Friederich Raisch, Anne Katharine Raisch, Johann Georg Raisch, Barbara Raisch, Anna Maria Raisch, Anna Charlotte Raisch, and an unnamed Raisch child who did not survive to be recorded by name. Each of them called Waldenbuch home. The family's time in Waldenbuch closes with the burial of Christian Friedrich Raisch on 2 March 1862. Christiana Mary Hahn is likewise tied to the town by residence, part of the wider circle of kin who lived out their days in this Württemberg community. Across these years, from 1784 to 1862, Waldenbuch was not a place the Raisch family passed through but a place where they were born, raised their children, and were laid to rest — a settled home for the better part of a century.
